As our patient, you understand the importance of oral health and taking care of your teeth by visiting us for regular check-ups and cleans, which is why when you get sick, you might struggle with whether or not you should cancel or keep your appointment.
Here are a few things to consider if you’ve fallen ill near your next visit.
1. How sick are you?
If you’re dealing with something like a headache, consider keeping your appointment and taking an over-the-counter pain relief medication before your visit. If headaches are not common for you and you’re having difficulty managing the pain, it may be worth rescheduling.
2. Are you contagious?
If you’re coughing and sneezing, you may have a virus or the flu. Because both are highly contagious, consider canceling so you don’t infect other patients and staff members in our practice.
3. Let us know as soon as you decide to cancel.
The earlier you’re able to give us a heads up that you need to reschedule an appointment, the sooner we can get you rescheduled for a future visit. This also allows us to give your appointment slot away to another patient who may need a last minute visit.
Need to Reschedule?
If you decide you’re too sick or contagious to visit us for your appointment, give us a call today to reschedule your appointment. If you have additional questions for us, we’re happy to speak with you. Remember—we’re here to accommodate your needs!
