Composite resin veneers are more affordable, and we place them in a single visit. Resin is the same material used for tooth-colored dental fillings. For a veneer, the dentist applies layers of custom-shaded resin onto the etched surface of the tooth. A cool curing light hardens the resin between layers, and ultimately, the tooth takes on a completely new appearance. Composite veneers are direct restorations, because they’re not made in a lab. They cost less than porcelain veneers but may last only 5 years or so, depending on the patient’s habits, oral health, and diet.
