When you visit our Barrie dental office at Bayfield Mall, you’ll notice that we focus on patients first, with a foundation of prioritizing quality, comprehensive dental care at an affordable price. Our multilingual, friendly team members have experience with patients of all ages, so we welcome your children, teens, neighbors, and parents!
For the past 15 years, the Tooth Corner dental offices have served families across Southern Ontario with high-value dentistry. Our wide range of services and payment plans in the Barrie dental clinic allow you and your family to enjoy the convenience of undergoing most dental procedures, even extractions, root canals, and orthodontics.
To keep your smiles, and the smiles of those you love, clean and healthy, our hygiene team provides regular and deep dental cleanings. We are happy to schedule dental checkups and cleanings consecutively, for patients who do not have gum disease. Did you know that untreated gum disease is a primary cause of adult tooth loss? Scientists have also linked it to serious health risks, including heart disease, stroke, Alzheimer’s disease, diabetes complications, and low-weight birth. If you have not had a checkup and cleaning in the last six months, it’s time! Call us today to schedule your appointment.
For children age seven and older, orthodontics may be indicated when there isn’t enough room in the mouth for teeth to erupt in line properly, when teeth erupt in improper locations, or to treat conditions with the bite, such as crowding, overbite, underbite, crossbite, etc. Braces are also now worn in adulthood to correct cosmetic and occlusal imperfections. If you’re interested in learning more about orthodontics for yourself or your children, call us today to schedule a consultation.
We don’t know exactly how many people avoid dental visits out of fear, because of a negative experience or not having full control when in the dental chair. Some people avoid dental work because of physical limitations that won’t let them remain comfortable for the time it takes to undergo a dental procedure. If you have postponed or avoided dentistry, it’s time to talk with the dentist about sleep dentistry. We offer medication to help anxious or physically uncomfortable patients feel calm and relaxed, so give us a call now to learn more.
Missing teeth can negatively affect self-esteem, as well as oral function. For people with slipping dentures, self-confidence and quality of life plummets. Both situations can now be remedied with dental implants. Anchored in the jawbone, implants help retain jaw shape, while providing a stable, reliable anchor for dentures or individual teeth. Want to know more? Schedule your appointment now!
Extractions are not always necessary. In some cases, root canal therapy can save a tooth from extraction. Other times, to make space for dentures or an orthodontic treatment plan, or to prepare for a dental implant, dental extraction is required. In this situation, our dentists are trained and experienced to offer comfort-enhancing medication and modern techniques. Would you like a second opinion about a diagnosis of needing extraction? Call us today.
Root Canal Therapy
When a natural tooth’s nerve becomes infected, the tooth will die. A root canal procedure involves removing the nerve and soft tissues within the tooth’s canals and filling the tooth with a manmade material. This allows the tooth, though it’s no longer living, to remain in place long-term, covered by a dental crown. If you’ve been told you need root canal therapy, call us for an exam.

Yes, we accept insurance payments directly from the insurance companies. Most insurance companies in Canada allow for this with a few exceptions. The advantage of this is that it allows you to keep your money in your pocket and lets us worry about collecting payment and we're more than happy to do so. However, you will have to pay your deductible which varies from one insurance policy to another. Call us with the name of your insurance provider for more information.
Non-Assignment is where you pay us first and then we submit your claim to your insurance company. We do this electronically and on the spot so you don't have to worry about it. The insurance company then reimburses you for the portion they cover as part of your insurance policy within a few business days. You can receive the money as quick as 2 business days at times.
So let's say for example your treatment plan ends up costing you $1,000 dollars and your insurance company covers 80% of that. You would pay us the $1,000 dollars, preferrably using a rewards card to incur reward points, and in a few business days you would receive $800 dollars back. If your insurance covers 100% of the treatment plan, then you'll get your entire $1,000 dollars back. Absolutely, nothing to lose, in fact there's something to gain in the process.
There are a few advantages to non-assignment, one of them being getting free reward points on your favourite rewards card. Here's why the Ontario Dental Association encourages it in their own words:
The ODA is opposed to assignment of benefits and actively encourages dental plan sponsors to make their dental plans “non-assignment” plans. Many people wonder why the ODA would oppose a process that many find convenient.
The answer lies in the fact that “non-assignment” dental plans can be less expensive than those that allow assignment, simply because the act of a patient paying for their dental care makes them financially involved in their oral health care. This provides very a good incentive for the patient to use their dental plan wisely. Dental claim reimbursement is much faster than it was years ago, and patients are finding that when they pay the dentist directly their reimbursement cheque is received quickly; greatly minimizing the time they are out of pocket. It is not unusual to see the dentist on Monday and have the reimbursement cheque before the end of the week, thanks to electronic claims submission.
Also, many dentists accept credit cards, which typically have a monthly billing cycle. If complex treatment is necessary, dentists can arrange a payment schedule that allows a patient to budget for expenses and get reimbursement that is more conveniently timed.
Active decision-making about oral health care by patients and meaningful involvement in the financial matters of dental care, including the dental plan, is an important part of achieving excellent oral health care.
At The Tooth Corner, we accept all forms of insurance, both private and government. It's important for you to be in the know as to which services are covered by your insurance, and how much is covered. Most insurance plans cover up to 80% of general dentistry, oral hygiene, and emergency services. Treatment plans that are cosmetic in nature, such as whitening, implants, veneers, and braces are not typically covered, but you should always double check.
For your convenience, below you'll find the most popular private insurance plans available today and we accept them all. If you don't see your insurance logo below, don't be alarmed, we still accept it. We take them all.
